Florida has come a long way since the real estate crash, when almost everyone said we would never recover. But as things have improved our state has grown. Our population is on the rise, unemployment is low, housing prices are back up, not necessarily to the peak highs, getting most home owner above water……even me.
Our key industries are:
- Corporate Headquarters
- Financial & Professional Services
Our elected officials have made significant investments in education at all levels, our ports, roads and infrastructure. They have reduced government regulations by a total of 4,200 regulations. Florida’s 15 deep water ports plan to spend 2.6 billion dollars upgrading their facilities. The Port of Miami is dredging it’s waterways to 50′ to handle the larger ships coming from the new and larger Panama Canal. They also have added a tunnel to improve train traffic flowing in and out of the port. The Suez canal in Egypt is also expanding and should be ready soon.
We all know that tourism has been breaking all records for the last 2 years. Everyone can feel it both economically and in the added traffic and long waits at restaurants. We get a big economic boost from the snowbirds that come here for a few months and the tourist that visit. Also corporations are moving here to take advantage of our lower tax rates.
